UHS regulates and co-ordinates all the activities of medical education and health research throughout the province of Punjab, as reconsolidating and modernizing Medical education is one of its aims. It is housed in a picturesque purpose built building and reflects the commitment of Government of Pakistan for the uplift of Medical & Health Sciences in bringing them at par with the International standards. The University is making concerted efforts to bring medical education and degrees at par with the prestigious institution of the world.
